Pro Orantibus, or “for those who pray”, “for the devotees”.
The second album of The TAAN Trio is, as well as the first one (Live At Easy Nuts Lab, Chant Records/Felmay, recorded December 23rd 2018, released march 2019), a live set.
The live is here a masterclass that Alberto N. A. Turra hold in the auditorium of the academy CPM-Centro Professione Musica in front of about 150 students. The music was recorded from the sound engineeringʼs class.
It was November 21st, World Day of Cloistered Life, dedicated for those who pray: Pro-Orantibus.
Recorded almost one exact year after the first album, Pro-Orantibus contains six tracks, from the same repertoire of the first album, but here clearly witnessing a high point of the trioʼs playing after two years touring: the only way to reach a truly communicative, meaningful and profound improvisational liturgy is nothing but the restless exercise of mutual listening (interplay, actually the title and main theme of the masterclass).
This second album is not only a document for those who love comparing multiple versions of the same songs, but it is also demonstrating how a mindful audience (here, the students devoted to music), the necessity of choosing a limited repertoire and the unawareness of being recorded can give a strong contribution to the effectiveness of communication. The result is six songs with great expressive power.

Pro Orantibus, per coloro che pregano, per i devoti.
Il secondo disco di TAAN trio è anche in questo caso un live emerso dalle registrazioni che gli allievi fonici del “CPM - centro professione musica” hanno realizzato della masterclass di Alberto N. A. Turra tenutasi nel teatro/auditorium della scuola stessa di fronte a circa 150 studenti, il 21 novembre 2019, giornata dedicata ai contemplativi detta appunto pro-orantibus.
Registrato a un anno (quasi) esatto dalla realizzazione di Live At Easy Nuts Lab per Chant Records/Felmay (23.12.2108) questa testimonianza non porta cambiamenti di repertorio di sorta (sei brani in tutto, già presenti nel disco precedente) ma presenta in modo lampante il raggiungimento della cifra esatta del trio dopo due anni di tour: l’incessante esercizio dell’ascolto reciproco (interplay, infatti titolo e tema principale della masterclass) come unica possibilità per una liturgia improvvisativa davvero comunicativa, significativa e profonda.
Non solo un documento per i fanatici amanti del raffronto tra più versioni dello stesso brano o serie di brani, bensì l’occasione di sentire quanto un pubblico attento (gli studenti devoti alla musica), le limitazioni di scaletta (in quanto masterclass non si è potuto suonare l’intero set) e l’inconsapevolezza di essere registrati possono sulla efficacia comunicativa: sei esecuzioni di grande forza espressiva.
